Almanac39 is a web directory maintained in the manner of a reference almanac. It catalogues 834 sites across 22 sections, each entry having been reviewed and inscribed by the archivist before publication. The directory covers principal fields of commerce and service, from medical practitioners and legal chambers to travel operators and computing firms.

Yes. Almanac39 does not charge for submission or listing. If your site is reviewed and meets the catalogue's admission criteria — an identifiable trade or service, basic presentational competence — it will be inscribed at no cost. There is no mechanism for purchasing placement or priority review.

Sites are assigned to one of 22 sections according to their principal trade or service. Section headings follow the conventions of the reference almanac: precise and arranged to make retrieval straightforward. A site may appear in only one section, assigned by the archivist at the time of inscription.

Use the submission form on the Add a Site page. Provide the URL, a brief description, and select the section that best fits your trade. The archivist will review the submission and, if it meets the catalogue's criteria, inscribe it in the appropriate section. You will not receive an automated confirmation, but accepted entries appear in the directory within a reasonable period.

Reviews are conducted individually and without a fixed schedule. The archivist examines each submission on its own terms before making a decision. Submissions that meet the criteria are admitted; those that do not are set aside. If your site has not appeared after several weeks, you may resubmit, ensuring the description accurately reflects the site's content.

The primary criteria are that the site represents a genuine, identifiable trade or service and presents itself with basic competence. Sites that are incomplete, have no discernible purpose, or duplicate an entry already in the catalogue are typically declined. The archivist exercises judgement rather than applying a rigid checklist.

To request an amendment to an existing entry — a corrected URL, a revised description, or a change of section — contact the directory through the submission form with a note explaining the required change. The archivist will review the request and apply amendments where appropriate.
